Because the Texas Heart Institute receives no patient care revenues, philanthropy plays an important role in maintaining our contributions to society and health throughout the world.
Unlike most nonprofit organizations that have a source of operating revenue, Texas Heart Institute (THI) relies entirely on government grants, research contracts and—most significantly—philanthropy to achieve its goals of pioneering research and education for the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
The Texas Heart Institute is more than our celebrated number of open-heart operations, heart transplants or cardiology procedures. Our research and educational programs are the driving force of Texas Heart Institute's excellence. These are the programs that will conquer heart disease once and for all.
