THI Professional Staff to be Featured at Mega-Sized Medical Conference
A large, new medical conference and trade show debuts in Houston April 28-30, 2014, at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The event, known as MEDICAL WORLD AMERICAS, is new to the United States, and is modeled after MEDICA, the world’s largest such conference, held annually in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Several Texas Heart Institute professional staff are presenters for the cardiology track, including:
Ali Massumi, MD, director of the Center for Cardiac Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology; Blase Carabello, MD, chief of cardiology; O.H. “Bud” Frazier, MD, chief of the Center for Cardiac Support and chief of cardiopulmonary transplantation; Emerson Perin, MD, PhD, director of new cardiovascular interventional technology and director of clinical research for cardiovascular medicine; Doris Taylor, PhD, director of regenerative medicine research; and James T. Willerson, MD, Texas Heart Institute president.
Based on the number of sessions attended, physicians may earn up to 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
MEDICAL WORLD AMERICAS is a collaboration among the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Texas Medical Center Corp. and Messe Dusseldorf, the German company that produces MEDICA.
The conference will be held annually in Houston. For more information, visit www.medicalworldamericas.com.
