Question:
Is thickening of the heart wall a concern?
I am 63, a lifelong runner, nonsmoker, rarely drink, run about 30 miles per week, run occasional half marathons and have some thickening of the heart wall. Is this a concern? Thank you.

Thanks for the question. Thickening of the heart wall can be seen in marathon runners. You will need an Echocardiogram to confirm or exclude this finding. Since I do not know your other cardiac history, please consult with your cardiologist regarding echo and further tests if needed.
