Question:
Should we increase my father's metoprolol?
My father, 88 yr old, on hemodialysis had new onset of AFib. Started metoprolol ER 25 mg at night. For a week. He developed lots of PVCS. He is in sinus 68 currently. Should we go up metoprolol to 50 mg ER one a day? Thanks.

Dear Leween, In a complicated case like your father's, only the attending M.D. can regulate the medications. Good luck.
