Question:
Would it be my best interest to request another stress test?
I had a thallium stress test done almost 2 years ago. It showed a shadow. The cardiologist is not worried. He said back then, I could get a heart cath or not. I did not nor have had any other tests. Should I be concerned? I am a 48 year old, thin female but have years of chronic sleep disorder/anxiety. I take cardizem and atenolol for heart palpitations that there is no cause for. Would it be my best interest to request another stress test?

Dear Chloe,
If the first test was abnormal it's prudent to have another test for comparison, then your doctor should guide you accordingly.
