Ask a Texas Heart Institute Doctor

Question:

Is my heart ok? My tests are normal but I have random chest pain.

If I had a blood test, few EKGs, an echo, and event monitor all come back normal except one time my heart beat was fast on the event monitor is my heart fine? I get random chest pain that I can't tell if it's muscle or heart. I also have continuous shoulder and back pain. I am 24, was athletic, running up until a year ago when I had a panic attack.

Roberto Lufschanowski, MDThe likelihood is that you are normal but because of the chest pain, a stress test is needed.
