Cardiovascular Pathology Staff

L. Maximilian Buja, MD—Chief, Cardiovascular Pathology Research, THI; Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston; Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Society for Heart Research, the American Heart Association and member of numerous other professional organizations. Author of 297 research articles, 237 review articles, editorials, other publications and book chapters; two books in the field of cardiovascular medicine, and two atlases of pathology.  

Pamela Potts, BS—Manager of CV Pathology, Safety Officer for THI, Archivist for THI's GLP Studies. Member of various professional organizations, including the Society of Quality Assurance, Microscopy Society of America, National Society of Histotechnology, Texas Society of Histotechnology, and Texas Society of Microscopy.

Barbara Molinari, HT (ASCP)—Senior Histotechnologist. Member of the National Society of Histotechnology and Texas Society of Histotechnology.

Ralph Nichols, HT (ASCP)—Electron Microscopy Coordinator. Member of the National Society of Histotechnology, Texas Society of Histotechnology, Microscopy Society of America and the Texas Society of Microscopy.

Ibrahim Aboshady, MD—Research Scientist, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Ana Maria Segura, MD, MPH—Research Scientist. Specialty Interests: Heart Failure and Mechanical Support, Aortic Diseases, Atherosclerosis.

Deborah Vela, MD—Senior Research Scientist, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Professional organization memberships: American Heart Association, North American Vascular Biology Organization, American Society of Investigative Pathology, and Society for Cardiovascular Pathology.

Kevin Tran, BS—Senior Research Technician, Member of Tau Bets Pi Honor Engineering Society and Biomedical Engineering Society.
