Texas Heart Institute (THI) is committed to giving back to the community through a number of educational outreach events and activities throughout the year. We believe it is our responsibility to leverage the knowledge and talents of our scientists, biologists, physicians, engineers, chemists, statisticians, and other medical and technical professionals to not only educate the community about the importance of heart health, but to help train and prepare the next generation of professionals for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
We provide a number of unique STEM education opportunities, from community-based events and tours that bring elementary, middle and high school students to campus, to enrichment programs for teachers in STEM education, to partnerships with local organizations that promote and support mentorships for students interested in the field. In addition, we offer research training at THI through internships that introduce students from schools and universities to some of the most cutting edge science, research and innovation.
Throughout the course of our history, we have touched the lives of people from all corners of the globe through both our research and education initiatives, and we remain committed to offering these important opportunities to the community.
